The Ten Commandments

This is taken out of Exodus 20. I will paraphrase what it means kind of like The Message, only I'm not saying what I write is Scripture (unlike someone else, who shall remain nameless)
1. I am the LORD your God who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery. You shall have no other gods before Me.
This would enclude, Budda, Allah, Krishna, or any other of the world's religions
2. You shall not make for yourself an idol, or any likeness of what is in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the water under the earth. You shall not worship them or serve them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, on the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me, but showing lovingkindness to thousands, to those who keep My commandments.
This would include a concept of an exclusively "all-loving, all-forgiving" god; which is NOT the God of the Bible!
3. You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain, for the LORD will not leave him unpunished who takes His name in vain.
Using Jesus Christ's name as a swear, or the name of God in any unreverant way.
4. Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you should labour and do all your work, but the seventh day is a sabbath of the LORD your God; in it you shall not do any work, you or your son or your daughter, your male or your female servant or your cattle or your sojourner who stays with you. For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day; therefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day and made it holy.
Take a day off each week! Working 7 days will ruin you! Its for your own good. Plus, God says so.
5. Honour your father and your mother, that your days may be prolonged in the land which the LORD your God gives you.
Obey your parents.
6. You shall not murder.
Jesus said if you are angry without cause, you are guilty of murder in the heart.
7. You shall not commit adultery.
Jesus said if you look at another with lust (sexual desire) you have already committed adultery in the heart.
8. You shall not steal.
Size or value does not matter.
9. You shall not bear false witness against your neighbour.
Do not lie!
10. You shall not covet your neighbour's house; you shall not covet your neighbour's wife or his male servant or his female servant or his ox or his donkey or anything that belongs to your neighbour.
Be happy with what you have. God knows what you need and has given it to you.

God can tolerate a little sinning, right? I mean, I only do little sins anyway...

So many people today (including Christians) seem to think that it is okay to sin because God is so loving and so forgiving. He's also Just, and the Just Judge. He also cannot tolerate ANY sin.

When we sin, it is as though we are rushing the Throne room of God, trying toss Him off His Throne with the sole purpose of murdering Him to usurp the Throne. It is an affront to God Himself! Still don't think it is that serious?

How many times did the devil and his angels need to sin before they were cast out of heaven forever, with NO HOPE of redemption?
Only once.

How many times did Adam and Eve need to sin before they were cast out of Eden forever?
Only once.

How many times do you need to lie to be considered a liar?
Only once.

How many times do you need to steal to be a thief?
Only once.

How many times do you need to look with lust to be considered an adulterer at heart?
Only once.

I think you are starting to see a pattern here.

If all it took was "one little sin" to throw the entire human race into destruction, don't you think that even one sin is a big deal?

God poured out only a fraction of His wrath on the devil and his followers when He cast them out. That was for ONE SIN ONLY!!!

Think about how many times you have sinned, even today, and then think of what God SHOULD do to you.

However, to save you from the punishment that is to come, He sent His one and only Son, whom He loved, to pay the sin debt that YOU owe. He pourerd out His entire wrath on His Son not just for all of YOUR sins, but for every human that has ever lived and will ever live!!!! That is too much to comprehend!! That is also an unbelievable amount of God's Holy hatred for sin!! All poured out on His Son!!! And seeing as how that should have been poured out on YOU, that is an unbelievable amount of love!!

Salvation is 100% conditional, though. You MUST repent (turn from your sins today and until the day you die) and put your entire trust in Jesus Christ for your eternal Salvation both today and until the day you die.
